I have been drag racing as a hobby for many years but only got serious about it around 2003 or so.
I started really getting into it with a front engined dragster with a 1965 Jim Davis chassis. It had a methanol injected Chevy 283 in it and would run 11.00 @ 125mph. Really fun car once we sorted it out. I now run a 1964 Chevy II with a carburated 377 in it. It runs mid 11's and is quite fun to drive!
My greatest racing achievement so far was winning the 2008 Hotrod class of the famed Bakersfield Famoso March Meet!
Worked on the chopper tonight! Mounted the N.O.S. “Dixie” dual headlights and the reproduction M.A.C. Exhaust drag pipes! Making progress little by little.
Picked up this fantastic set of vintage Miller brand head lights for my Harley project. They are brand new never before mounted. That freed up the pair of N.O.S. Dixie headlights I was saving so they will go on the Honda chop! Ordered a high low mount directly from paugco.
Ended the day in round #3. Had a slow reaction time and my competitor closed the door on me! All in all not a bad showing for the first race of this series. I qualified 34th in a 67 car field and I finished with 16 cars remaining.
Won round #2! Dialed 11.14 ran 11.15 riding the brakes across the line! .024 reaction time. Having a pretty darn good day so far!
First ANRA race of the season and the pits are full!! We are pitted just past the finish line. Nice to see so many new racers to this series!
